NS-NS sector of closed superstring field theory

We give a construction for a general class of vertices in superstring field theory which include integration over bosonic moduli as well as the required picture changing insertions. We apply this procedure to find a covariant action for the NS-NS sector of Type II closed superstring field theory.

Nonlinear gauge invariance and WZW-like action for NS-NS superstring field theory

We complete the construction of a gauge-invariant action for NS-NS superstring field theory in the large Hilbert space begun in arXiv:1305.3893 by giving a closedform expression for the action and nonlinear gauge transformations. The action has the WZW-like form and vertices are given by a pure-gauge solution of NS heterotic string field theory in the small Hilbert space of right movers.

Gauging Wess-zumino-witten Models

We review some aspects of gauged WZW models. By choosing a solvable subgroup as gauge group, one is lead to three main applications: the construction of field theories with an extended conformal symmetry, the construction of the effective action of (extended) 2D gravities and the systematic construction of string theories with some extended gauge symmetry.

On the general structure of gauged Wess – Zumino – Witten terms

The problem of gauging a closed form is considered. When the target manifold is a simple Lie group G, it is seen that there is no obstruction to the gauging of a subgroup H ⊂ G if we may construct from the form a cocycle for the relative Lie algebra cohomology (or for the equivariant cohomology), and a general expression for these cocycles is given. Their formal similarity with the expressions ...

Wess-Zumino-Witten term on the lattice

We construct the Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW) term in lattice gauge theory by using a Dirac operator which obeys the Ginsparg-Wilson relation. Topological properties of the WZW term known in the continuum are reproduced on the lattice as a consequence of a non-trivial topological structure of the space of admissible lattice gauge fields. In the course of this analysis, we observe that the gauge ano...
